Adventures in Azeroth

It’s a Druid’s World (of Warcraft)

Kara-better

It’s late and I need sleep, but a much better Kara experience tonight.  Guild got a group together to go back on the key from last week.  Maiden – down on second attempt.  Two epic drops – [That which Amanna can’t use] and [That which Amanna doesn’t need].

On to Moroes.  Took about 4 resets but we finally got him.  The Pocket watch drops and I’m rolling against only one other, but lose 28 to 50.   Crap.

Much better experience though.  Good run for our group B and my only second time in (first on Moroes).

Health was up to 16K with all buffs.

Good night.

  1. Nice work! It took my guild two painful weeks and some massive repair bills to down Moroes for the first time. He can be a mean bugger.

16k health w/ buff is just about perfect for Kara.

  2. Can be? He IS a mean bugger!!!

For a rogue in what you have to assume is leather armor (Blizzard wouldn’t change the rules for a boss, would they?) he takes a mean beating before going down.

Fun encounter though. Seems like a lot of timing and coordination with the garrotes and shackles, but once you have it down, would be very manageable.

  3. Moroes is a fun fight. I’m always offtanking Moroes while also holding one add on me (if possible, the def tank … free rage for me 😀 ). In my opinion this fight is pretty challenging for the healers, especially, when moroes enrages and there are 2-3 garrotes in the raid.

Next Stop for you will be Opera. Very funny and enjoyable fights. Pretty demanding on everyone in the raid, but if you get it right, it’s even more fun than moroes ;D

  4. Varela: I’ve both main-tanked Moroes, and off-tanked like you described. I’m not sure which I prefer. Last time out, I managed to out-threat our main tank (oops), which led to me main-tanking Moroes while having a mortal strike warrior wailing on me from behind. =P

We’ve been using amplify magic & renews on anyone who gets garrotted…. that seems to keep the damage in check fairly well.

When you get to the Opera event, hope for the Big Bad Wolf. That’s my favorite fight of the three. =) Nothing’s more amusing then getting turned into red riding hood, and having the BBW hot on your tail!

  5. Moroes is tough if you’re not use to it. With the 4 adds, it’s never a fun thing.

I think we got it on the second try in our guild, on a dry run. I always found maiden harder due to being a mage (low health). Opera event is always fun, but sometimes the drops aren’t entirely the best, and the aggro range is incredible when they do the inroduction (before you start the event).
