Comments feed downside
In response to a reader request a month or so back, I posted a feed for comments. It’s right there at the top of the second column under the RSS header. Anyway, it’s a good tool and I’d recommend you all subscribing to it as some of the best information on this blog is from you, the readership, in the comments of the blog posts. It’s a hassle coming back to the site all the time, trying to remember which posts you wanted to track, then checking them all separately to see if they have new comments. With this feed, you’ll get all comments delivered directly to your reader just like original posts.
Please be warned though, that I’ve seen an increase in spammers getting comments through the spam filter. WordPress does a great job of filtering spam, but every once in a while something does slip through. I think I’ve seen three spam comments in the month or two that I’ve had the comment feed up. Nothing too objectionable, WordPress filters those out, but sometimes bordering on offensive.
So, I wouldn’t tell you not to subscribe to the comments feed, just be aware that I do not personally suppport insurance websites, gay porn, or v1agra.
